Discouragement
Some people are already confident.
Others have it in them, secretly hidden away,
waiting for a time, a day, to dare to let it out.
Often, though our talent is there, we are too afraid.
We are scared of others, and of what they’ll say.
It stops us in our tracks, although we’d love to play.
Needing their approval has got in our way.
Talent screams from within.
Like a dagger to the heart, doubt is yelling; ‘No. No. No’
Don’t give it a chance.
Kill it.
I won’t allow it.
Doubt is there, protecting us from other people’s scorn.
Unfortunately, this will stop our talent being born.
Our leaves are going black, and we start to wither away,
we are like a plant that isn’t watered for a day.
